국가대표 태권도 시범단은 30여 년 동안 국내 주요 행사와 각종 국제 행사에서 태권도 시범을 통하여 국기 태권도를 널리 알리고 홍보해 왔다. 또한 전 세계 5대양 6대주(100여 개국)를 순회하면서 태권도의 우수성과 한국 문화를 널리 알리는데 앞장서 왔으며, 세계 태권도 인구의 저변확대와 국위선양에 크cause effect essay prompts writemyessayrapid.com게 공헌을 하였다.
지난 1986년 서울에서 개최한 제10회 아시아 경기대회 개막식 식후 공개 행사와 1988년 제24회 서울 올림픽 대회 개막식 공개 행사, 세계 장애자 올림픽 개막식 공개 행사에서는 일사불란한 행동과 높은 난이도의 시범을 보임으로 세계인의 찬사와 주목을 받았다.

프랑스 파리에서 열린 제103차 IOC총회에서 우리나라의 국기 태권도가 2000년 시드니 올림픽 정식 종목으로 채택되기까지는 여러 분야에서 공헌한 사람들이 많지만, IOC위원장과 각국의 IOC위원, 세계 여러 나라의 국가 올림픽 위원회(NOC)관계자들이 태권도의 높은 가치성을 인식할 수 있도록 1973년부터 2014년 현재에 이르기까지 많은 국제 행사와 100여 개국의 태권도 시범을 통하여 민간 외교 사절로서의 역할을 훌륭히 해왔음을 빼놓을 수 없다.

 

국가대표 태권도 시범단은 태권도 시범을 통하여 다양하고 고난도의 기술적인 표현뿐만 아니라 예의, 인내심, 집중력, 염치, 극기의 정신, 백절불굴, 협동정신 등의 정신적인 기풍까지도 느낄 수 있다. 이를 바탕으로 가정에서는 효를 행하며 사회에서는 타의 모범을 보임으로서 국가대표 태권도 시범단의 긍지를 가지며 태권도인의 희망을 싣고 종주국의 위상을 높이는 동시에 앞으로 태권도의 발전에 공헌할 수 있도록 더욱더 노력할 것입니다.

Our Team has been playing the role of ambassador-at-large of Taekwondo for more or less 30 years on various important domestic occasions as well as through numerous overseas performances. By doing so, our Team has been promoting Taekwondo at home and abroad. we are proud of having been one of the vehicles of Korea’s cultural evangelism abroad as Korea’s sports and cultural avant-garde in 100 foreign countries covering 6 Continents and 5 Oceans of the Globe.

Among others, it is noteworthy to introduce here the following two demonstration events : Our Team’s demonstration on the occasion of the after-opening ceremony events of the 10th Asian Athletic Games in 1986; Our Team’s demonstration on the occasion of the official opening ceremony of the 24th Seoul Olympic Games in 1988; Our Team’s demonstration on the occasion of the official opening ceremony of the Disabled Athletes’ Olympic. On such important occasions, our Team has acquired a great reputation and admiration from all the viewers of the globe for our excellence of performance, mastery of delicate technical skills and high degree of display of esprit de corps.

Finally the 103rd IOC meeting held in Paris adopted Taekwondo as an official Olympic discipline from 2000 Sydney Olympiad. Evidently numbers of personalites have so far contributed to make Taekwondo reach such stage of international recognition. However, it must be emphasized that our Team might have greatly impressed the chairman of IOC, numerous distinguished IOC members of the world and the competent authorities of worldwide National Olympic Committees by our superb performances of Taekwondo which took place regularly from 1973 until 2014 at various international occasions throughout 100 countries over the world. In this regard, we are proud of having implemented with success a diplomatic role as civilians.

Furthermore our Team is displaying by our discipline and demonstration not only diverse technical performances of high risk but also the decorums of Taekwondo which range from courtesy, endurance, concentration, self-conscience to spirit of overcoming difficulty, invulnerability and esprit de corps. Based on these disciplines, our Team members are executing our filial piety at home and acting as well disciplined citizens in our society. By our such code of conduct, our Team is proudly enhancing the prestige of Korea as the originator of Taekwondo and will endeavor to further promote Taekwondo relentlessly.
